Ear-Ring Tin

It's been ages since I've posted and I am completely amazed to actually have 8 followers.  I am so blessed to have crafty friends in cyber-land.

I decided to add one of my cropchocolate.com projects to the Ink Stains 5th Anniversary Altered Altoids Tin Art Festival & Blog Hop! and linking to the image from my CC profile didn't work.  So, I couldn't take the lazy route and here I am.

My altered tin is a practical one.  A travel tin for earrings and rings.  I hope you like it.  It's simple to make and would make a nice gift for travelers.

Made with:  The cushion Basic Grey brads are packed in along with Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate, Making Memories Sienne and My Minds Eye Life Stories papers.  The chip board sticker on top is from Crate Paper.  The sides are covered w/a coordinated strip of paper.

Happy holidays!

You Inspire Card

I've been making cards lately to submit in the weekly contests CropChocolate.com has been holding.  I've been pleasantly surprised at the wonderful feedback they've been receiving.  Below is my entry for this week's challenge - create something using a minimum of 2 lines of paper and a minimum of 3 folds and as always at least 1/2 the products used must be from cropchocolate

The balloon generated a good bit of interest and questions on CC.  Here's how I made it.

I used a circle punch (1-3/8") to punch out circles from a variety of papers.  I then folded them in 1/2 and glued the sides together to form the balloon.

I then punched the basket using the 2nd largest shape from the SU owl punch and trimming the narrow end to make the flat bottom of the basket and inked the edges.

Lastly, I used the yellow topped stick pins from a package of MME embellishments to form the ropes and sand bags.

Note:  If you use a larger circle punch the basket could likely be made using 1/2 of a rounded tab punch.

Products used to make this card included:
Paper from:  We R Memory Keepers Madame Royale, Pebbles in My Pocket's May Bouquet and Basic Grey's kioshi, out of print, basics kraft lines.

Stick pins from My Minds Eye's Miss Caroline line.

Stampin Up Owl and Circle punches, ink and definition stamps.

Purple Daisy Stamps air-balloon.

I happened to visit my neglected blogger account the other day to check out what I've been missing on blogs I follow and was shocked to discover I now have 8 followers!  Thank you each for the honor and making me smile.  Since your kind enough to follow my blog, it would be nice if I'd post a little something, eh?

I've haven't done much crafting recently and what I have done has been prompted by CropChocolate.com.  Between participating in challenges posed to their current focus group and the weekly challenges posed on the 'shops' website I haven't completely been neglecting my crafty supplies.

I used a doily for the both current weekly challenge and last weeks.  The previous weeks challenge was to use masking - the doily served as my mask.  This weeks challenge was to include a homemade flower and I used the doily from the previous challenge as part of the background. The masking/inking of the doily was done with TH Distress Stain.

I used a variety of items to create the flower for the current challenge - 2 SU punches, MME Lush paper and brad, MME So Sophie paper, and MM Hul-la-ba-lo.

I hope you like the cards and encourage you to check out CropChocolate.com; it's a great site for buying supplies and making scrappy friends.

I've made two more wreaths recently.   One using a frame for St. Pats day and a cherry blossom tree.
